Abstract

Kegiatan pengamatan pada koleksi ilmiah keong darat dari Sumatera yang disimpan di MZB dan studi pustaka telah dilakukan dengan tujuan memutakhirkan informasi tentang keberadaan keong darat di Sumatera. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa jumlah jenis keong darat dari Sumatera tercatat 280 jenis, 33 diantaranya endemik dan kurang dari 40% dari jumlah total tersimpan di MZB. Delapan jenis merupakan “catatan baru” (new record) bagi Sumatera, yakni Lagochilus obliquistriatum, Diplommatina calcarata, D. cyclostoma, Philalanka micromphala, Coneoplecta bandongensis, Liardetia densetorta, L. viridula dan Landouria monticola yang dikoleksi dari Pesawahan, Provinsi Lampung, Sumatra Selatan. Tulisan ini merangkum seluruh informasi tentang keberadaan dan status keong darat di Sumatera, beberapa jenis berstatus endemik, namun beberapa juga terbatas sebarannya, bahkan tergolong langka dan terancam punah.
