Abstract

Trips memiliki beragam peranan dalam ekosistem pertanian dan dapat berasosiasi dengan tanaman budidaya maupun tumbuhan liar (gulma). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan peranan jenis trips yang berasosiasi dengan tumbuhan centro (Centrosema pubescens Benth.) dan gulma putri malu (Mimosa pudica Linn.) di Kawasan Pusat Sains Cibinong. Kedua jenis tumbuhan yang diamati disimpulkan dapat menjadi inang alternatif bagi trips yang berperan sebagai hama. Megalurothrips usitatus (Bagnall) berasosiasi dengan kedua tumbuhan inang, sedangkan Ceratothripoides brunneus (Bagnall) hanya berasosiasi dengan tumbuhan centro. Catatan inang baru bagi C. brunneus dan M. usitatus di Indonesia juga dilaporkan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu pada tumbuhan centro suku Fabaceae.
