PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN Haematococcus TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN, TOTAL KAROTEN, VITALITAS DAN LIPID PLASMA KERAPU SUNU (Plectropomus leopardus)

Abstract

Benih kerapu sunu D60 merupakan stadia dimana ikan hanya mengkonsumsi pakan buatan dan benih mulai menunjukkan adanya pemudaran warna merah seiring dengan berjalannya waktu. Karoten merupakan pigmen merah, jingga dan kuning yang ditemukan pada tumbuhan, termasuk alga dan buah-buahan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi karotenoid terhadap total karotenoid, laju pertumbuhan, imunitas, total kolesterol dan nutrisi pada benih kerapu sunu. Ikan ukuran panjang total rata-rata 3,19 + 0,2 cm dengan berat total rata-rata 0,42 + 0,07 g diberi perlakuan penambahan karoten Haematococcus pluvialis (NatuRose) 10g/kg pakan (A) dan tanpa karoten sebagai kontrol (B) dengan ulangan 3 kali menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Pada akhir penelitian dilakukan uji tantang pada ikan kerapu sunu yang ditempatkan pada wadah berkapasitas 80 L dengan kepadatan 10 ekor dengan ulangan 3 kali. Uji tantang dilakukan dengan menyuntikan 0,1ml inokulum Nervous Necrosis Virus (NNV).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa benih kerapu sunu perlakuan A memiliki kandungan total karoten (35,74± 0,99 μ/g) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrol (30,66 ± 0,21 μ/g) (P value< 0,05). Sementara itu, sintasan setelah uji tantang pada perlakuan A. juga lebih tinggi (53,33 ± 15,28%) dibandingkan dengan kontrol (13,33 ± 15,28%) (P value < 0,05).Perlakuan penambahan karoten dalam pakan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan berat maupun panjang juga terhadap total kolesterol. Kandungan kimia pakan lemak (13,14% berat kering) menunjukkan 18,18% lebih tinggi dari kontrol (11,29% berat kering), disamping itu kandungan protein 4,68% lebih rendah dari kontrol.
